Nancy O'Dell's debut position in the broadcasting industry was as a reporter/anchor at WPDE-TV Myrtle Beach South Carolina. She then worked as an anchor and morning reporter for WCBD TV. O'Dell's articles in Charleston concerning how Charleston police acted in DUI cases with leniency caused an investigation by State Law Enforcement Division. This investigation led to a more strict direction for state officials. The Associated Press awarded Ms. O'Dell her Best Report of the year Award for every aspect of South Carolina media. In the years following her stint in Charleston O'Dell worked as a co-anchor and investigative reporter for NBC's Miami station WTVJ-TV prior to joining Access Hollywood as a weekend anchor and a weekday reporter. As well as her role as anchor on Access Hollywood Ms. O'Dell is also an anchor for NBC News' Today and in addition contributes to Dateline NBC. She's covered events like The Oscars The Emmys The Grammys The Golden Globe Awards, as well co-hosting Pre ShowArrivals Programs during The Emmys. She has also hosted The Miss America Pageant as well as the Miss USA Pageant and Miss Universe.
